Menses moves into the proliferative phase. At the onset of ovulation, it then moves into the secretory phase

follicular phase - ovulation - luteal phase

what causes LH to rise?
estrogen increase - positive feedback
how does selection for a single follicle work?
it’s bigger, has more granulosa cells, and can aromatize androgens better. Thus, it inhibits all the other cells from growing
when does the oocyte get released after the LH surge?
36 hours (35-44)
what’s spinnbarkeit?
clear mucus discharge that’s a sign of the cycle - will be there just before the egg releases
what’s molimina?
premenstrual syndrome; caused by progesterone
when does the oocyte release on a basal body temperature graph?
there’s a dip in temp - JUST after the rise in temp is the release
how many days is the luteal phase?
14 days! (if it’s not, then something’s wrong)
