- scared they would lose their indipendance and they didn’t want to be controlled by western powers

- loss of Ruhr, Germany was taking too long to pay France for the reparations (as they didn’t actually have that money) so france decided to invade the Ruhr
- hyperinflation, the governnment decided to solve the problem of not having enough money by just printing out more, but this caused hyperinflation
