Q

Is the sinoatrial node

A

This is also known as the natural pacemaker as it cause an impulse to travel through the atria causing them to contract and force blood into the ventricles. This node also sets the hearts rhythm and rate

Q

What is the atrioventricular node

A

This is the text impulses travelling through the atria and redirects to impose to the bundle of this. This causes the delay, slow in the spread of the electrical impulse across the heart and allowing the atria to contract before the ventricles

Q

What is the bundle of his

A

Also called the atrioventricular bundle, this is a group of fibres in the septum which the impulse travels through to the base of the ventricles

Q

What are the Purkinje fibres

A

These fibres act like neurons and are found in walls of the ventricles. The impulse from the bundle of his reaches the purkinje fibres which cause the ventricles to contract
