1
Q

What are intrinsic back muscles?

A

Also called “true” back muscles, these muscles start and end in the back. They help maintain posture and move the vertebral column.

Q

Serratus Anterior

A
Not a back muscle
Innervation: Long Thoracic Nerve
Blood Flow: Lateral Thoracic Artery
Action: Protracts and rotates scapula and holds it against thoracic wall
-> Injury causes "winged scapula"

24
Q

Ilium

A

Largest bone of the pelvis

25
Greater Occipital Nerve
Dorsal rami of the C2 spinal nerve and is strictly sensory
26
What are the three muscles that attach to the coracoid process?
Pectoralis minor, short head of the biceps and the coracobrachialis
27
Acromion
Point that juts out laterally from the scapula
28
Suboccipital Nerve
Dorsal rami of the C1 spinal nerve and is strictly motor
29
Spinal Accessory Nerve
Also known as CN XI and is involved in the innervation of the trapezius
30
Thoracodorsal Nerve
Has extensions of the C6, C7 and C8 spinal nerves and innervates the latissimus dorsi
