Project manager is responsible for setting the inital schedule and budget, monitoring the project throughout and keeping it on schedule and within budget

Schedule and budget preparation is probably the most important responsibility since the primary test for a successful project is that it is delivered on time and within budget.
What does the project manager do in regard to programming?
They must analyze the clients wants and needs to arrive at objectives to be met by the design process. They must also help the client to separate wants from needs and to understand the difference
What is the project managers responsibility in regard to team organization?
The project manager must put together a team to execute the project, including the right mix of designers, technical specialists and consultants. They must also provide the resources required by the team to function efficiently and effectively
What is the project managers relationship with the consultant contact?
The project manager must establish their scope of work, negotiate their contracts, monitor their progress, and coordinate their work. It’s important that consultants be made to feel they are full partners in the process and encouraged to take an active roll.

The project manager must set up the project filing system and see that all pertinant information is recorded and processed in such a manner that all people working on the project have access to the information they need. They must also organize records so they can be easily used for future reference.

They are responsible for evaluating the work in progress in an effort to keep the process moving smoothly. They must be able to document methods that prove to be successful as well as recognize proceedures for effective use of people, time, money, technology and other resources.
