• Statins: Acetyl-CoA🡪HMG-CoA🡪Mevalonate–>Choelsterol
• Block HMG-CoA reductase, so HMG-CoA builds up and decreased mevalonate and cholesterol synthesis
• Major effect: decrease LDL. Minor effects: increase HDL ad decrease trigycerides
