Q

What is Pulmonary capillary wedge pressure=pulmonary artery occlusion pressure?

A

It is an approximation of left atrial pressure and left-ventricular end-diastolic pressures

—-Measured by inserting swan-ganz catheter=pulmonary artery catheter through SVC and pushing it through RA🡪RV🡪pulmonary trunk🡪pulm artery branch🡪tip blocks blood flow and approximates pressures at left-side of heart

—-Low in septic shock
