-spine shifts to a more posterior position
-lumbar spine curves inwards
How to do a pudendal block?
-lidocaine injected bilaterally into pudendal canal when pudendal nerve is located via the vagina
Where is the pudendal nerve located?
Level of the ischial spine
When is pudendal block needed?
-prior to instrumental
How to give anaesthetic for perineal infiltration?
-local anaesthetic is injected in a fan shape into perineum
When is perineal infiltration done?
Prior to episiotomy and repair
Where is the epidural catheter inserted?
- threading the needle between bones and ligaments to reach epidural space
Where is epidural injection administered in the spine?
Lumbar spine
