What is an Open Skill
An open skill is when the environment is always changing and is externally paced
What is a Closed Skill
A closed skill is when the environment is stable and it is habitual and self paced
What is a Simple/Basic Skill
A simple skill needs low concentration levels and needs to process little information in the moment
What is a Complex Skill
A complex skill needs high concentration levels and needs to process lot of info
What is a Low Organisation Skill
A low organisation skill is when the skill is uncomplicated and simple it doesn’t have many phases
What is a High Organisation Skill
A high organisation skill is when the skill is complicated and requires attention and is in many phases
What is Massed Practice
Massed practice is practicing a skill until learnt normally without a break
What is Distributed Practice
Distributed practice is practicing a skill over several sessions until learnt
What is Fixed Practice
Fixed practice is when you practice in a single situation (good for closed skills)
What is Variable Practice
Variable practice is practising in a variety of situations (good for open skills)
What is Visual Guidance
Visual guidance is visually showing the performer the action to help complete the skill
What is Verbal guidance
Verbal guidance is verbally giving instructions to aid the performer complete the skill
What is Manual Practice
Manual guidance is using physical contact to help the performer complete the skill
What is Mechanical Practice
Mechanical guidance is using equipment to aid a performer to complete a skill
What is Intrinsic Feedback
Intrinsic Feedback is when the feedback comes from the performer themselves
What is Extrinsic Feedback
Extrinsic Feedback is feedback coming from an external source such as a teacher/coach
What is Concurrent Feedback
Concurrent Feedback is feedback provided during the game or performance
What is Terminal Feedback
Terminal Feedback is feedback provided at the end of game or performance
