(But Strepsiades calls Socrates)
STREPS. Socrates, dear little Socrates, come here.
ΣΩΚ. τίς ἐβόησε;
SOC. Who shouted?
τίς ἐβιάσατο εἰς τὸ φροντιστήριον τὸ τῶν σοφιστῶν;
Who forced (his way) into the thinkery of the sophists?
STREPS. It was I who shouted, Strepsiades from (the deme of) Kikynna.
But I did not force (my way) into the thinkery.
ΣΩΚ. τί με καλεῖς, ὦ ἐφήμερε;
SOC. Why are you calling me, creature of the day?
ἦλθες δὲ σὺ κατὰ τί;
What did you come for?
STREPS. I came (as a) student to the thinkery.
