sacral plexus Flashcards
sacral plexus
by union of L5-Co
branches;
sup gluteal n
inf gluteal n
post. cut. femoral n
sciatic n
pudendal n
coccygeal n
*all thru infrapiriforme foramen (nema sup.gluteal n thru suprapiriforme foramen and coccygeal n coccygeus)
Superior og inferior gluteal nerves
superior gluteal nerve;
thru suprapiriforme foramen
*motor: gluteus minimus og medius. Og tensor fascia lata
inferior gluteal nerve:
thru infrapiriforme foramen
*motor: gluteus maximus
Posterior cutaneous femoral nerve
exits thru infrapiriforme foramen
cont. to thigh
-The nerve runs under the fascia, only it’s br. get over the fascia to the skin
*inf.cluneal nn
*perineal (skin on medial + post gluteal reg)
*Skin: posterior femoral region+post.genual region
Sciatic nerve
exits thru infrapiriforme foramen
cont. to thigh, there cov by long head of biceps femoris.
*motor: seminimembr, seminitend, biceps femoris
og adductor magnus
*sensory; br for hip + knee joint
–> terminal branches:
-Tibial N
-Common fibular(peroneal) N
Tibial n
usually begins above popliteal fossa
-passes thru popliteal fossa
-on knee, cont under Triceps surae
-acc. by posterior tibial vessels
-on planta it enters thru medial retromalleolar canal
og divides into medial/lateral plantar nn
*motor;
Triceps surae
Plantaris
Popliteus
Tibialis posterior
Flx digitorum longus
Flx hallucis longus
*sensory;
1)medial cut. sural n (skin posterior leg-middle part)
og it forms sural nerve
2) calcaneal rami (for skin calcaneal region)
Medial + lateral plantar nerves (From tibial N)
1)medial plantar n–>
*motor:
abd hallucis
flx digitorum brevis
flx hallucis brevis
lumbricals
*sensory; skin medial planta side
2)lateral plantar n–>
*motor: other mm
*sensory; skin lateral planta side
Common fibular(peroneal)nerve
usually begins above popliteal fossa
-passes thru popliteal fossa
-located most laterally there
*gefur frá sér–>
a) lateral cut. sural n (skin on lateral+post leg)
b) sural communicating br (forms sural nerve)
*Terminal branches–>
superficial og deep fibular (peroneal nerves)
Superficial fibular(peroneal)Nerve
-occurs milli fibula og fibularis longus m
-hjá distal 1/3 leg–> fer over fascia, runs suprafascially
to dorsum pedis (over extensor retinaculum)
*motor: fibularis longus og fibularis brevis
*sensory: skin dorsum
(medial+intermedial cutaneous dorsal rami)
Deep fibular(peroneal)Nerve
-runs laterally from tibialis anterior m.
-under extensor digitorum longus m.
-acc. anterior tibial vessels
-on dorsum pedis, distally it runs suprafascially
*Motor:
tibialis anterior m.
extensor digitorum longus
extensor hallucis longus
extensor digitorum brevis
extensor hallucis brevis
*Sensory: skin milli hallux og second toe
Sural nerve
formed by medial cut. sural nerve (tibial n)
og sural communicating branch (common fibular n)
*sensory-skin;
lateral+posterior leg
lateral ankle
lateral foot
(lateral dorsal cutaneous rr)
Pudendal nerve
-exits thru infrapiriforme foramen
-then enters back thru lesser sciatic foramen, thru pudendal canal (in ischioanal fossa)
-together w internal pudendal vessels
*motor: pelvic diaphragm (ext.anal sphincter)
og urogenital diaphragm
*sensory: skin kringum anal orifice, scrotum, penis,
labia majora og clitoris–>
-inf. rectal nn: ext.anal sphincter + skin, anal orifice)
-perineal nn: muscular ramus(mm of perineum) og
posterior scrotales/labiales nn
-dorsal n of penis/clitoris
Pudendal nerve
-exits thru infrapiriforme foramen
-then enters back thru lesser sciatic foramen, thru pudendal canal (in ischioanal fossa)
-together w internal pudendal vessels
*motor: pelvic diaphragm (ext.anal sphincter)
og urogenital diaphragm
*sensory: skin kringum anal orifice, scrotum, penis,
labia majora og clitoris–>
-inf. rectal nn: ext.anal sphincter + skin, anal orifice)
-perineal nn: muscular ramus(mm of perineum) og
posterior scrotales/labiales nn
-dorsal n of penis/clitoris
Coccygeal nerve S5-co
*motor: levator ani og coccygeal mm
*sensory: skin, coccyx og anal orifice
