-middle + inner ear.
Superficial temporal A
asc. behind mandible
in front of auricle (cov. by parotid gland)
and over zygomatic arch into temporal region
supply:
-parotid gland
-ext ear (lateral surf auricle)
-lateral face (by transverse facial a og zygomaticoorbital a)
-temporal m (by middle temporal a)
-lateral scalp (parietal + frontal branches)
maxillary artery
largest br of ext. carotid A
-1st part: mandibular part
-2nd part: pterygoid part
-3d part: pterygoid palatine part
maxillary a supply

-hard+soft palate
-maxilla, mandible, all teeth, gingiva
-nasopharynx
-mental og infraorbital region
maxillary A - mandibular part
the first part of maxillary A—>
milli neck of mandible og sphenomandibular lig.
supplies:
-ext acuostic meatus og tympanic membrane
-TMJ
-dura mater in middle cranial fossa + on lateral wall of skull og tympanic cavity (by middle meningeal A)
-mandible, lower teeth, gingiva, mylohyoid m (inferior alveolar A)
-skin on chin (mental ramus, originates from inferior alveolar A)
maxillary a - pterygoid part
second part of maxillary a—>
in infratemporal fossa, related to lateral pterygoid m
supplies:
-mastication mm
-buccinator m
maxillary a - pterygoidpalatine part
3d part—>
in pterygoidpalatine fossa
supplies:

-maxilla, maxillary sinus, skin infraorbital region (infraorbital a)
-nasopharynx, eustachian tube (artery of pterygoid canal)
-nasal cavity, ethmoidal sinus, sphenoid sinus (sphenopalatine a)
-lateral wall + roof oral cavity = palate (descending palatine a)

Internal carotid artery
Opthalmic A supplies face + cranium:

-dorsal nasal A
*conn. milli internal og external carotid aa—>
dorsal nasal A + angular A
*TA=
opthalmic a traverses optic canal

Internal jugular vein
It begins by initial dilated p (superior bulb of jugular vein) in jugular foramen
-it is a deep structure
-traverses neck in carotid triangle w.in carotid sheath
-closely related to internal carotid a (resp to common carotid a)
-internal jugular vein joins w subclavian vein
—> brachiocephalic v
(intra/extracranial tributaries):
drains blood from:
-interior of skull including brain
-face, spf structures of skull
-parts of neck
extracranial tributaries of internal jugular vein
drain venous blood from face, spf areas of skull, neck
-tributaries that drain structures and areas that are supplied by br of ext. carotid a.
-retromandibular v
-pharyngeal vv
*common trunk/thyrolinguofacial trunk:
-facial v
-lingual v
-superior thryoid v
-occipital v
-external jugular vein
(veins have many variations in both occurence and course)
