What is trachoma?
A chlamydial infection of the eye

What are the symptoms of neonatal gonnorrhoeal eye infection?
Erodes the eye within 24hours
Hyperspurilant discharge
Responsible for blindness
What are the arteries that supply the eye?
The ophthalmic artery that divides into retinal and ciliary arteries
What are the veins that drain the eye?
The ophthalmic and retinal veins drain into the cavernous sinus
What are some eyesight conditions of childhood?
- Developmental disorders
- Refractive/optical problems (short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism)
- Amblyopia
- Strabismus
Inflammation of eye Eg. allergies, conjunctivitis - Eyelid lesions
What is Amblyopia?
Lazy eye
One, or sometimes both, eyes develop causing it to not move along with the other causing the lazy eye to wonder
What causes refractive eye problems?
When the shape of the eye prevents the eye from focusing properly
What is astigmatism?
When the cornea or lens have a different shape
Causes lights to stretch across vision so you can’t see clearly
