Sudden, severe, shooting pain below jaw, on one side
A nerve malfunction
Normally idiopathic

Because it can be assumed that it won’t stop by itself

A
Affects IQ
Causes malformations like spina bifida
Associated with neurodisability
It’s dose-dependent

What are some causes of anosmia?
A
- Mucous blockage of the nose preventing odours from reaching the olfactory nerve receptors
- Head trauma: can result in shearing of the olfactory nerve fibres leading to anosmia.
- Congenital
- Parkinson’s disease: an early feature
- COVID-19
