RADIOGRAPHS HIGH YIELD LATERAL VIEW Flashcards
1
Q
lateral view measures what planes and views?
A
Sagittal plane
Talar declination angle
Calcaneal inclination angle
2
Q
- Allows us to view foot and osseous structure in sagittal plane
- Foot will be weight bearing with patient in their angle and base of gait
A
Sagittal plane
3
Q
• Angulation of a bisection of the talar neck in relation to supporting surface
A
Talar declination angle
4
Q
- Apparent angulation of the calcaneus to the supporting surface
- Change in angulation probably due to inversion/ eversion of calcaneus
- MTJ determines calcaneus position
A
Calcaneal inclination angle
5
Q
• Cyma line – line formed by articulation of T-N and C-C joints
o Normally “S” shaped
o Broken by anterior displacement = pronation
o Broken by posterior displacement = supination
• Also can assess if 1st ray is dorsiflexed or plantarflexed
A
Signs of supination/ pronation
