A

DO NOT:

Persistantly ask for more details
Be judgemental “why didn’t you run away”
Do not interput if person is recalling significant events
Do not contact abuser

Do not make promises you cannot keep, do not promise to keep it a secret, explain you may have to tell people who need to know

REMEMBER CONFIDENTIALITY - do not disclose the info to anyone who does not need to know
