How should doctors communicate with patients?
- Put patients’ interests first
- Protect patients from aby risk posed by your health
- COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH PATIENTS - give clear info, so they can understand, obtain valid consent, treat them as individuals
- Treat patients without discrimination

What should doctors do to ensure they provide the highest quality of care to all patients?
- Keep up to date with skills, research, guidlines, law

In what manner should doctors act towards collegues to maintain the best level of care to all patients?
- Treat ALL collegues with respect
-work together as MDT
-Ensure any referral of care is to a competent colleague (correct delegation of tasks)
-if you suspect a collegue is not competent, you are putting a patient at risk, YOU MUST ACT
When dealing with colleagues, give three situations where as a doctor, you must act
- If you have referred care to a collegue and they are not competent
-if environment is not safe
-any sort of risk / harm to patient
-if you suspect abuse of children, vulnerable adults
In which situations will the GMC carrry out investigations?
