Q

mechanism of action Levodopa-Carbidopa

A

DOPA is a precursor for DA.
When levodopa is exogenously administered, it is comprehensively metabolised by the enzyme COMT.
In the peripheral nervous system Carbidopa blocks DC, which causes a larger amount of DOPA to cross the blood brain barrier.
