2
Q

mechanism of action Barbiturates

A

non-selective reduction of the CNS via an increase in neurotransmitters that use GABA receptors as a blocking system.

They can lower excitatory neurotransmitter results, which lowers the need for alertness and wakefulness > anaesthetic

12
Q

mechanism of action Gabapentin

A

Gabapentin interferes with the calcium channels in the neurotransmitter, and hereby reduces the discharge of miscellaneous transmitters.
