overall:
majority of rock profiles here at NA coast is igneous rock formed by volcanic activity from around 56-62 million years ago. igneous is generally the older bedrock, while it can the superficial deposit on top as well, but so can sedimentary rocks. an anomaly can be Runkerry where whole profile is sedimentary - possibly more vulnerable to coastal erosion
