have to wait 5 weeks for test of cure

New York Agar plates show shiny grey colonies of gram -ve diplococci that are kidney shaped
what do you need for microscopy?
urethral/ endocervical swabs
management
first line= ceftriaxone 1g IM
second line= cefixime 400mg plus PO azithromycin 2g (only if IM contraindicated)
complications in lower genital tract
bartholinitis tysonitis periurethral abscess rectal abscess epididymitis urethral stricture
complications in upper genital tract
endometriosis PID hydrosalpinx infertility ectopic prostatitis
