Muscles Of The Arm Flashcards
What are the nerve routes of the musclocutaneous nerve and which muscles does it innervate?
Its nerve routes are c5, C6 and it innervates the biceps brachii the coracobrachilias and the brachilias
What are the origins and insertions of the biceps brachii?
Long head originates from the supraglenoid tubercle and the short head originates from the coracoid process of scapula, and attaches to the radial tuberosity
What are the actions of the biceps brachii?
Supination and flexing the arm at the ellbow
What is the origin and insertion of the coracobrachilias?
Origin is the coracoid process of the scapula, and attaches to the medial side of the humeral shaft.
What are the actions of the coracobrachilias?
Is a flexro of the arm at shoulder
What is the origin and insertion of the brachilas?
Originates from the medial and lateral surfaces of the ulna shaft and inserts to tuberosity of ulna just distally to the elbow joint
What are the origins of the different heads of the triceps and what are their insertions?
Long head comes from the infragelnoid tubercle, the lateral head originates from the humerus, inferior to the radial groove, and the medial head originates from the humerus, inferiror to the radial groove
What does the tricpes brachii do?
It performs extensor actions
What is the triceps brachii inneverated by?
The radial nerve, which has nerve roots C6, C7, C8
