The process of getting the information from the Ltm to the stm so it’s available for use

Suffered from epilepsy, in order to treat it he had brain tissue removed which caused his Ltm to be effected but stm left intact. This shows each store is separate

Involved in a motorcycle accident that caused brain damage, he was left unable to process new STM but his ltm was intact. This shows stores are separate
Oversimplified
As it fails to take into account the complexity of the human mind, therefore it may not be able to be used as it may not be effective
Doesn’t take into account flash bulb memory
Multi store model says rehearsal is the only way info can be taken from stm to ltm. But flash bulb memory says when an exciting or traumatic event happens it’s automatically remembered e.g 9/11 so rehearsal may not be necessary
