What is a pure substance
A
A substance that is made of only one element or compound. It has a specific, fixed melting point. Melting and boiling point data can be used to distinguish pure substances and mixtures

Why does an impure substance not have a fixed melting/boiling point
A
Because they contain different elements and compounds so there will be a range

What is a formulation
A
A mixture that has been designed as a useful product e.g., medicines, paints, washing up liquids. They are made by mixing components in carefully measured quantities to ensure that the product has useful required properties.
