A

Wear of teeth from chemical/dissolving process. loss of tooth structure from the action of dietary or gastric acids

Wearing away of teeth from a mechanical/rubbing process. Refers to any unnatural type of mechanical wear such as tooth brushing, toothpicks, pens, pencils, etc.

A

Normal physiological wear of teeth from chewing and tooth-to-tooth contact w/out foreign substances. Mastication. Always involves occlusal or incisal surfaces and may be due to excessive bruxism.
