water-borne: caused by people ingesting water contaminated water. cholera, Norovirus
water-based: caused by parasites that spend their life cycle in water: schistomiasis, guinea worm

water-related vector-borne: transmitted by insects that breed or feed near water bodies: Dengue, malaria, yellow fever

what is the pathogenesis of cholera
bacterium establishes in bowel, attachment of organism onto microvilli of the small intestine. Produces endotoxin.

mild to moderate diarrhoea, nausea and vomitting, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, muscle cramps
