Q

Describe Radiopaque vs Radiolucent on X-Ray

A

Radiopaque is whiter, greyer, solid color due to attenuation/absorption of light. Structures like BONE, metal, fluid. More Dense (shown in atelectasis for e.g b/c no air)

Radiolucent means not as much absorbed so less dense (e.g healthy lungs full of air) would appear darker.
