- Acts on antithrombin III to reduce the ability of the blood to form clots, thus preventing clot deposition in coronary arteries

- ACS
- Acute pulmonary embolism

- Predisposition to bleeding
- Aortic aneurysm
- Peptic ulceration
- Known sensitivity or Hx of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, severe thrombocytopenia, sulfite sensitivity

Dosage (Adult)
Cardiac Indications:
A
- 60 units/kg IV (Max 4000 units), followed by 12 units/kg/hr (Max 1000 units)

- 75 units/kg followed by 20 units/kg/hr
