  • Sinus bradycardia
  • SA block
  • Second and third degree heart block
  • Adams-Stokes syndrome
  • Known sensitivity to hydantoins

  • Dosing is ordered in milligram phenytoin equivalents (PE) instead of mgs
  • Administer 15-20 mg PE/kg IV, IO
  • Administered at rate of less than 150 PE/min
