- Prevents/ reduces nausea/vomiting by binding and blocking a receptor for the brain chemical serotonin

Indications:

- Prevent and treat nausea/vomiting

Adverse Effects:
A
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Diarrhea
- Dizziness
- ABD pain
- Hypotension
- HTN
- ECG changes (Prolonged PR and QT intervals, widened QRS)
- Bradycardia
- Tachycardia
- Syncope

Contraindications:
A
- Known sensitivity
- Use w/ caution in hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, cardiac arrhythmias
