AUC 336 NOTIFICATIONS Flashcards
The IC shall order the dispatcher to have a Battalion Chief designated as the
Member Tracking Chief to respond to the hospital where the seriously injured member is transported
The IC at the scene is responsible for confirming the following information
- Name
- Company
- Status (deceased, missing, injured)
- Hospital
If serious injury, missing or death of a member the officer in charge of FDOC will notify the members
Unit Commander or if unavailable, an officer assigned to the company
The Chief of Operations will have a Staff Chief respond to FDOC to coordinate notifications. Until the Staff Chief arrives , the Chief of Operations may special call a
Battalion Chief to the FDOC to coordinate procedures
At the hospital, the Member Tracking Chief and FCL (if on the scene), under the direction of the Staff Chief, will team up and be responsible for the following
- Evaluate the situation and either step-up or reduce response
- Confirm identity of the member and notify the officer in charge of FDOC and the Staff Chief on duty to start the NOK notifications
- Provide periodic updates to FDOC until BHS Medical Officer on duty assumes their responsibility
- Secure a fax machine and number for transmission of NOK information from FDOC
- Notification/Tracking Checklist (NTC-1) will be completed by the Member-Tracking Chief/FCL
- The on duty FCL will make notification to the NOK by phone if transportation of NOK will be delayed
- Request use of 2 rooms at the hospital. One for the family and the other for FD Command Post
