It’s not an existential threat.Hotel plays a different role in society, In development, in real estate and corporate and leisure travel. But it’s disingenuous to say it has no effect in hotel industry. People do that on certain needs & occasions.It’s another way how airb&b/Ebay,Grab/amazon used technology to reduce frictions. In the case of aBnB, Homestay had existed for centuries.When you look at the geographic distribution of hotels vs airb&b the availability etc. it may have a small impact.I think the problem is level playing field; tax, etc

AirB&;B is alternative accommodation heavily oriented towards leisure, weekend extended stay, multiple occupancy and a big value proposition which is satisfying a different trip occasion than the bulk of what we hotels do.We’re in the Hospitality business taking different products at different price levels then rapping it in an authentic heart felt service and we are not just lodging.We are the premium, we are not trying to be the cheap alternative. We are the premium! 😝

Not really, Air-BnB itself is a distribution system. The core of the AirB&B business is satisfying a a different trip occasion than the bulk of what we do. Air BnB is different; it’s a lodging alternative. We have our boots on the ground and

The problem is that 30-50 airbnb business is in commercial operations; people taking hotel rooms and making a big business and there is no regulatory environment, it’s a carte Blanche.
