Officers who encounter a sexual predator, sexual offender, or career offender who may be
in violation of their requirements (i.e., registration, correct address on driver’s license, etc.) shall contact
an OTU supervisor during office hours for guidance. After work hours, with a
supervisor’s approval, officers shall contact the on-call OTU supervisor
Any person who is designated as a habitual violent felony offender, a
violent career criminal, or a three-time violent felony offender under Florida State Statute
(F.S.S.) 775.261 and who has been released from State sanctions after July 1, 2002.
Career Offender
requires sexual predators and sexual
offenders to re-register and verify the information required by Florida Department of Law

Temporary Residence (Career Offender)
A place where the career offender routinely
abides, resides, or lodges for a period of four or more consecutive or non-consecutive days
in any month, or resides for a period of 14 or more days in the aggregate during any
calendar year. It also includes housing for career offender whose permanent residence is
not in this state or is enrolled as a student for any period of time.
Temporary Residence (Sexual Predator or Sexual Offender)
A place where the person
abides, lodges, or resides, including, but not limited to, vacation, business, or personal travel
destinations in or out of Florida, for a period of three or more days in the aggregate during
any calendar year and which is not the person’s permanent address or, for a person whose
permanent residence is not in Florida, a place where the person is employed, practices a
vocation, or is enrolled as a student for any period of time in Florida.
Transient Residence (Sexual Predator or Sexual Offender)
A county where a person lives,
remains or is located for a period of three or more days in aggregate during a calendar year
and which is not the person’s permanent or temporary address. The term includes, but is
not limited to, a place where the person sleeps or seeks shelter and a location that has no
specific street address.
All sexual predators/offenders who reside within Duval County fall under the jurisdiction of the
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO). Within _______, upon their release from prison or upon
establishing residency in Duval County, sexual predators must register at 1024 Superior St.

According to F.S.S. 943.0435, all transient sexual predators and sexual offenders will be
required to report in person to the Sheriff’s Office in the county in which they are located
within ___________ after establishing a transient residence. They must report in person every 30
days to the JSO Felony Registration Office at 1024 Superior Street while maintaining a
transient residence.
