The JSO is divided into six components:
a. Administration;
b. Department of Patrol & Enforcement;
c. Department of Investigations & Homeland Security;
d. Department of Police Services;
e. Department of Personnel & Professional Standards; and
f. Department of Corrections.
In addition to the five department directors, the following units report directly to the
Undersheriff:
a. Integrity & Special Investigations Unit – Conducts criminal investigations of JSO
members and COJ employees, as well as conducts special criminal investigations; and
b. Legal Assistance Unit– Provides legal counsel and guidance to members as needed in the
performance of their official duties

support for planned events and unplanned incidents, as well as oversees ICS
training to JSO members.

Performs ceremonial duties at funerals and other designated
events.

– Coordinates the delivery of law enforcement
services performed by officers in a secondary capacity.
Secondary Employment Unit
Oversees law enforcement activities, such as crowd and
traffic control, for planned events.
