103 Interagency Cooperation Flashcards
It shall be the policy of JSO to assist and cooperate with all law enforcement agencies engaged in the administration of criminal justice, fire services, medical services, civil defense, military security personnel, concurrent jurisdictions, and other local, state, and federal agencies involved in service to the public.
JSO shall utilize, give aid, and/or provide timely and accurate information to members of the community in need.
JSO personnel shall maintain a collaborative working relationship with other agencies to ensure information exchange and coordination.
How often shall the SAO Liaison to the JSO meet with a representative of the SAO for the purpose of:
- Ensuring the exchange of information as it applies to courtroom procedure and investigative errors;
- Exchanging information which would allow for a greater understanding of the difficulties and complexities encountered by law enforcement personnel; and
- Reporting the results and suggested corrective actions of these meetings in periodic legal bulletins.
At least quarterly
How often shall the Lieutenant of Felony Registration Unit or designee meet with a representative of the Florida Commission on Offender Review (FCOR) for the purpose of:
- Exchanging information as it applies to the tracking of habitual serious offenders; and
- Assisting FCOR personnel, (i.e., supplying information about the defendant during probation/parole investigations, assisting with violators, etc.)
At least annually
Who shall meet periodically with representatives of other agencies having concurrent and adjoining jurisdictions to plan and discuss joint enforcement efforts, problems, concerns, and MAAs?
Assistant Chief or Narcotics & Vice
Who shall meet, at least annually, with fire service personnel to coordinate, resolve problems, and develop plans?
Assistant Chief of Special Events or designee
JSO personnel shall refer persons in need of assistance to the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction, or when not related to criminal matters, to the agency best able to provide the requisite aid.
JSO personnel shall be knowledgeable as to the social service organizations that are available.
The Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), the All Hazards Plan, the hazard specifics plans, and interagency plans are maintained by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s Emergency Preparedness Division and the JSO Emergency Preparedness Unit.
The JSO shall respond and assist the beaches’ police departments on police service calls, when requested.
The JSO shall respond and assist the JAAPD and the UNFPD when requested and may handle on-view calls within these jurisdictions.
JSO and all concurrent jurisdictions shall coordinate their investigations with the SAO in the Fourth Judicial Circuit.
JSO shall notify the Mutual Aid Bureau of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement if JSO requests assistance from another agency.
Who evaluates requests for assistance received from outside agencies and shall respond in a manner the Sheriff deems appropriate?
