What were the fourteen points?
They were Wilson’s plan for peace after WWI and an attempt to stop a future World War.
What were some of the 14 points?
Open diplomacy, freedom of the seas, the removal of tariffs, and reduction of military arms.
What is open diplomacy?
Talking about problems before going to war.
What is freedom of the seas?
Every country has access to the ocean.
What is reduction of military arms?
If you don’t have weapons – you can’t go to war.
Who beat up the 14 points plan?
The senate and congress.
During the Paris peace talk, what was developed?
The league of nations.
What is the league of nations?
An intergovernmental group whose entire role is to prevent future wars.
At the Paris peace talk who decides the fate of who?
The allies have to decide the fate of the central powers.
What countries were apart of the big four conference?
Britain, France, U.S. and Italy.
Who wanted to punish Germany?
The European nations.
Who didn’t want to punish Germany?
The U.S.
What was Germany’s punishment known as?
The treaty of Versailles.
What was the first punishment for Germany?
Disarm its military forces.
What was the second punishment of Germany?
Pay $33 billion in reparations, or repayments for damages and expenses caused by the war (money,
coal, iron ore).
