At the beginning of World War II, what side was America on?
They were neutral and they were not on any side.
What was the neutrality state?
The United State will not sell any weapons, tanks or ships to countries at war.
After the neutrality act, what did the U.S. move onto?
Cash and carry.
What does the cash and carry state?
The U.S. will sell weapons, tanks, and warships to other countries at war, but the countries at war must pick up the goods from U.S. Ports.
What came after the cash and carry?
Lend Lease.
What is lend-lease?
The U.S. will give Great Britain older tanks, warships, and weapons for free.
What was the Japanese theory?
Crush the U.S. early and take over the Pacific.
When did a large blip appear on radar?
December 7, 1941 – 7:00 am on Sunday morning..
What do they do when the blip is called into command?
They ignore the radar.
What happens at 8:00 am?
180 planes attack U.S. boats and airfields.
What happens at 9:45 am?
The attack over – 2,400 Americans were killed, and 1,200 wounded. 200 warships were damaged or destroyed.
What were some aftermath issues?
Internment.
What is internment?
Japanese citizens are sent to prison camps for the rest of the war.
Who declared war on Japan?
United States.
Who declared war on the United States?
Germany and Italy.
