When did the Industrial Revolution occur?
Mid 1700’s
What were the living conditions like before the 1700’s?
They lived in rural areas and people grew their own food, along with making their own clothes.
What did the 2nd agricultural revolution lead to?
New job specialization.

Fertilizer.
2nd Step in the agricultural revolution?
Crop rotation.
What tool was used to put plants in rows instead of being scattered?
Jethro Tulis seed drill.
What is exclosure?
Wealthy land owners bought peasants land.
What did exclosure lead to?
Increased efficiency.
What did all the advancements/steps in the agricultural revolution lead to?
A surplus of food… which then lead to population growth.
Why did people go to live in the city?
In order to have more opportunities for jobs instead of just farming.
Where did people migrate to from rural villages (country)?
The cities.
What did peasants forced to move off their land provide?
New labor force needed in the cities.
What did Job specialization lead to?
New discoveries in energy and design.
What three things were new discoveries?
Steam power, coal (heat source), Iron ore(building).

James watt.
