What is the Vygotsky theory?
This states that learning is a social process and that social interaction takes a key part in learning new skills.
This is done in three key stages
First stage of the Vygostky theory?
What does the first stage state?
Role of Social Interaction.
We initially learn skills from other people on a social level. Known as the inter psychological learning.
What is the second stage of the Vygostky theory?
What does the second stage state?
More knowledgeable other.
This is a person who has a greater understanding of the task you wish to complete.
Give you technical advice.
What is the third and final stage of the Vygotsky theory?
What does the third stage state?
Zone of proximal development
This is the space between what the learner can do without assistance and what a learner can do with a more knowledgable other (coach).
