Validation - question two Flashcards
section one
the Linnaean classification system was developed during the early 1700s. the original classification system involves Carolus Linnaeus placing organisms into groups on observed features.
section two
the modern classification system consists of an eight-level hierarchal system. the higher the taxonomic level the more organisms in that group. the eight levels are domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species.
section three
classification is used to achieve organisation as there is a massive amount of information and making it organised can make it easier to access and interoperate.
section four
classification allows communication between scientists around the globe to share ideas despite language barriers
section five
classification allows further studies to be conducted as patterns and trends are easier to recognise when organisms are accurately grouped
