ant. primary rami of lower 6/7 thoracic nerves

External Oblique origin
outer borders of lower 8 ribs & their costal cartilages
External Oblique insertion
outer lip of ant. 2/3rds of iliac crest - forms and aponeurosis that fuses with the one form the other side @ linear alba
inguinal ligament: lower free border between ant. sup. iliac spine & pubic tubercle
External Oblique nerve supply
lower 6/7 thoracic nerves & 1st lumbar nerve
External Oblique action
trunk flexion, lateral flexion & rotation
External Oblique function

lat. 2/3rds of inguinal lig
ant. 2/3rds iliac crest
thoracolumbar fascia
internal oblique inserion
inf. broder of lower 4 ribs
aponeurotic sheet that fuses with one from opposite side @ linear alba
conjoint tendon: muscle arising from inguinal lig blends with transversus abdominis
