Anterior 1/3 lip of the iliac crest & ASIS.

Between two layers of iliotibial tract.

Superior gluteal nerve L4, 5.
Tensor fascia lata action
Abduction flexion and medial rotation of the hip.
Tensor fascia lata function
putting your foot flat on an adjacent wall - right foot on right wall
Gluteus Medius origin.
Gluteal surface of ilium between posterior and anterior gluteal lines of the innominate.
Gluteus Medius insertion.
Superolateral side of Greater trochanter
Gluteus medius nerve supply.

psoas major = twelfth thoracic and all five lumbar vertebrae
iliacus portion = iliac fossa of the pelvis
