Name The Shoulder Joint Flexors
Pectoralis Major, Deltoid (Ant), Biceps Brachii ,(L/H), Coracobrachialis.
Pectoralis major origin
Medial half of the anterior border of the clavicle, anterior surface of the sternum, anterior surface of the upper 6 costal cartilages and the 6th rib.
Pectoralis major insertion
Laminated tendon into lateral lip intertubercular groove
Pectoralis major nerve supply
Medial (C8-T1) and lateral (C5, 6, 7) pectoral nerves.
Pectoralis major action
Flexes, medially rotates and adducts the arm at the shoulder.
Sternocostal fibres only: extend humerus from a flexed position
Pectoralis major function
Pushing, punching and throwing.
Deltoid (Ant) origin
Anterior border of the lateral third of the clavicle.
Deltoid (Ant) insertion
Deltiod tuberosity of the humerus.
Deltoid (Ant) nerve supply
Axillary nerve c5 6.
Deltoid (Ant) action
Flex and medially rotate the shoulder.
Deltoid (Ant) function

Biceps brachii origin
Long head: supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula
Biceps brachii insertion
(proximal, ventral) radial tuberosity and the deep fascia of the forearm via the bicipital aponeurosis
Biceps brachii nerve supply
musculocutaneous nerve C5, 6
Biceps brachii action
shoulder and elbow flexion & forearm supination
