  • Will flow out via the cystic duct (which merges with the hepatic duct of the liver) into the common bile duct, which then merges with pancreatic duct that secretes into duodenum (biliary flow)
  • Not all bile is stored in gall bladder, some flows directly out the duodenum

  • Aqueous, causes fat to clump up. Emulsification (due to bile) breaks up the fat into small particles (without chemically modifying it) which exposes a greater surface area for lipase to work on
