What do red blood cells do?
A
carry oxygen from the lungs to cells around the body for aerobic respiration.

Adaptations of red blood cells
A
- No nucleas - carries lots of haemoglobin
- Biconcave shape which increases the surface area for increased diffusion.
- lots of haemoglobin to bind and carry lots of oxygen.
- small so can fit through small capillaries.

What do white blood cells do?
A
Part of the immun system and identify and destroy pathogens

- Engulf bacteria
- Produce antibodies

A
Stop pathogens from entering and stop bleeding due to scabs

Whats plasma?
A
Yellow liquid that transports everything in the blood:
Red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Products from digestion of food such as glucose and amino acids. Waste products such as carbon dioxide and urea. Hormones, proteins, antibodies and antitoxins.
