A

C. Hospice care

Primary goal of hospice is to help people live as individuals, during the weeks and months left to them. And to help them die with as little discomfort and as much serenity as possible. In summary, hospice care aims to alleviate or prevent pain, allay fear, and treat patient and family together.

Kubler-Ross “Dying Process” treats patients by the five stages of dying approach.
1) Denial, 2) Anger, 3) Bargaining, 4) Depression, 5) Acceptance. Within acceptance: physicians should help patients face impending death. The end result of acceptance stage is patients accept impending death. Patients see death as end of a struggle, allowing patients to make preparations. Preparations include taking care of business, saying goodbye, and preparing for transition. Terminal patients can also begin to comfort others with their own acceptance.

Palliative care: providing relief from physical symptoms and suffering. May be initiated at any point during illness course, along with disease directed treatment.

Integrity vs. Despair is the last stage of Erickson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development. When reflecting on their life, an older adult may feel a sense of satisfaction or failure.

Youth in Asia: supple, tender adolescents located within the continent Asia. Hardly relevant in this problem. Gosh!
