Static Cardiology (Chest pain (Acute Coronary Syndromes)
A
- Scene safe/BSI
- Quickly assess to determine likelihood of cardiac chest pain
- Call for paramedic intercept
- Administer O2 to keep SPO2 above 94%
- Treat for shock if signs and symptoms exist
- Initiate cardiac monitoring
- Obtain baseline vital signs
- Perform 12-lead and transmit if possible
- Administer 324mg of Aspirin (ASA) chewable tablets
- Establish peripheral IV access with IV fluids hanging (PREFERABLY WARM)
- Administer 0.4mg sublingual nitro while symptoms persist with systolic BP above 100mmHg
- Check BGL
- Transport to closest appropriate facility, apply pads early “just in case”
- Obtain a SAMPLE history when possible
