Static Cardiology (Chest pain (Acute Coronary Syndromes)

  • Scene safe/BSI
  • Quickly assess to determine likelihood of cardiac chest pain
  • Call for paramedic intercept
  • Administer O2 to keep SPO2 above 94%
  • Treat for shock if signs and symptoms exist
  • Initiate cardiac monitoring
  • Obtain baseline vital signs
  • Perform 12-lead and transmit if possible
  • Administer 324mg of Aspirin (ASA) chewable tablets
  • Establish peripheral IV access with IV fluids hanging (PREFERABLY WARM)
  • Administer 0.4mg sublingual nitro while symptoms persist with systolic BP above 100mmHg
  • Check BGL
  • Transport to closest appropriate facility, apply pads early “just in case”
  • Obtain a SAMPLE history when possible
