parasympatholytic, Acetylcholinesterase

Mechanism of Action:
Pralidoxime Chloride attaches to site where cholinesterase inhibitor is attached. Atropine is a parasympatholytic and reverses SLUDGEM.

Indications:
Treatment of suspected organophosphate poisonings. Asses for SLUDGEM and killer B’s.

Contrindications:
None in emergency setting.

Precautions:
Does NOT work prophylactically. Use with extreme caution.

Side Effects:
Hypertension .

Dosage:
Atropine (2.1 mg/o.7ml) Pralidoxime Chloride (600mg/2ml)
each medication is in separate internal chamber.

Route:
Auto-injector, Intramuscularly (IM)

3-5 minutes.

If medications are supplied separately, Atropine MUST be given first.
