Macronutrient.
It’s fat, protein, and carbs. The main components of our diet.
Whatare carbs?
Carbohydrates are a source of energy that break down over a few hours. Like sugars and fats, however, due to their complex build it slowly breaks down providing a slow and steady energy source.
What is carb loading?
This is when you eat mass carbs for two to three days before a match. This means when you play you have lots of energy to maximise performance.
What are fats.
Fats are a store for energy as well as energy source.
What are proteins.
Proteins help your cells increase in number and size. Also used for recovery and used as an energy source if needed.
What are micronutrients?
Micronutrients are the sections of your diet that are not a major section but still important, like your minerals and vitamins.
What are vitamins?
Vitamins help your body and are required as your body can’t create these for use. Like vitamin C and vitamin D etc.
What are minerals?
Minerals are just like vitamins, they’re needed in the body to grow and develope. Such as calcium and iron.
What is fibre?
Fibre is a nutrients that provides mass and clump to your waste.
What is water?
Water is vital in your body, being dehydrated can have very unhealthy effects, body needs it to clear out waste etc.
What is dehydration?
This is a lack of water in the body, and the effects can be dizziness, nausea etc. Very dangerous.
What is hydration?
This is when your body has enough water to operate as normal.
What are Diuretics?
Drugs that make you urinate more, helps lose weight especially for boxes who are trying to lower a division.
What is metabolic rate?
The rate at which your body burns calories and energy.
