What is a first class lever?

A

A lever where the fulcrum sits in the middle. It is at mechanical advantage -output is greater than input.

What is a second class lever?

A

A lever wherethe fulcrum sits on the side, but the load is in the middle and the effort on the opposite side. It is at mechanical advantage.
